can anyone tell me what anisotropic filtering is? its set to off atm, but can go up to 8x. will this setting improve game performance?

It is a means to produce better image quality. There will be a performance hit when using it... how much depends on the base system it is being used on.Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill
