best sub $50 cards

I know most can't handle UT2k3 or beat a high end card, what is the best sub $50 card there? Period.

go for an MX440, cheap yet OK to play most games 1024 x 768 Medium Quality if u have a decentish system . It would be OK with UT 2K3 at this setting also, cos the game really has a wonderfully efficient graphics engine, they sell it for 350,000USD, no kidding. :wow:

thanks. Would I go horribly wrong buying a 4x agp mx440 instead of an 8x?

depends on if your mobo supports 8x or not ;) ....but with that card I doubt it will make much difference anyway, so just save yourself a few bucks and get the 4x variety

Not really as 8X AGP motherboards will handle 4X AGP cards and visually ya won't notice any difference, only graphic benchtests will show that.

well, you could check out pricewatch if you live in the US. you could go for a radeon 7500 or a gf4 MX 440 4x agp 128mbs. the radeon 7500 is pretty good, i used 2 run ut2k3 on it and it was allright,and some other games.

You can pick up a GeForce 4 MX440 SE w/ 128 MB RAM for about 30 bucks from Fry's with a rebate. We had to get one for my sisters comp, and it works great, especially for just 30 bucks :) :)
