Re: GA-P41T-D3P & C2D E8400 overclocking?
Nice job filling out your PC Specs.
Copy this bios template into Notepad or any plain text editor.
Press CTRL + F1 at the main bios screen before you go to the M.I.T. section.
Fill in your current bios settings in the template and change "Auto" to the current displayed setting.
If a setting does not appear in your bios, type N/A to the right of the brackets.
Save your completed template and paste a copy of the template in your next post.
Include a link to the memory's specifications at the manufacturer's web site.
Code:Motherboard: Model: Rev#: Bios Version: Cpu: Model Ram: Brand, Model/Part#, Link to your ram's specs Power Supply Unit: Brand, Model#, Wattage Default settings for new setups that are not overclocked. note: replace all ?? with the value displayed in your bios. ----> Replace "Auto" with manually set values. Re: GA-P41T-D3P & C2D E8400 overclocking?
GA-P41T-D3P memory support list: http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList...a-p41t-d3p.pdf
Single 4GB memory modules were not for sale until after your motherboard was made.
There are no 4GB modules listed in the memory support list.
It will be difficult or impossible to get your system stable with one 4GB memory module.
It will be much easier to get your system stable if you buy a 2 x 2GB matching kit of memory that is listed in the support list or to buy a kit that a memory manufacturer says is compatible with your motherboard model. Buying a modern memory kit designed to work with newer motherboards will take a lot more effort to get your system stable at stock and/or overclocked speeds.
I don't know how much DDR3 memory costs on the moon, but where I live, about $20 should get you a good kit of 1333MHz memory. Even with memory made for your motherboard, you still might need to under-clock the memory speed somewhat.Q9650 @ 4.10GHz [9x456MHz]

I can't help you until you fill in the bios template and post your settings.
CTRL+F1 in the bios should make a few hidden settings visible.Q9650 @ 4.10GHz [9x456MHz]
