ASROCK Z68 Fatality Over Clock - What is offset CPU voltage

I have a 2700K installed. I used the BIOS 4.8 Ghz automatic over clock profile which works fine. It set the vcore to about 1.5 volts which I am sure can be lower or used to get more clock speed, the later is my preference. Cuurent load tems are on the 50's.

I would like to get to 5.0, 5.2 Ghz and I know many of use use the offset voltage feature.

What does offset do? Any suggestions on how to move forward with my OC.

I think offset voltage is like GYGABYTE's Dynamic VID(DVIV) it's the amount of vcore added to default vcore.
In GB motherboard you must set vcore to "normal" and choose the amount to add.
e.g. if the default vcore is 1.2v and you want 1.5v at load you set DVID to +0.3v(DVID can be negative).
The advantage of using this method is that power saving options still lower vcore when not under load.

1.5v is alot of vcore? surely 1.4 for that clock?

I agree. I do plan to lower but wanted to use offset. I guess I will set vcore to a fixed normal and add a offset to 1.5. Then start backing of the offset.
