  • 12GB 980x bang for buck

    4.2ghz 980x ht on stable on air at 1.325 vcore

    I need 12 gb for audio production and I need some help to optimize

    Before coming here I have done some raiding on this topic, but there are some details I need the experience of this community to interpret...

    Basically I have 12gb dominator 4x3 gb rated for 9 9 9 24 at 1t. I don't feel comfortable with more than 1.375 vtt, and I want to maximize memory throughput.

    The rig is unstable at 1600 999 24 1t with 3000 uncore

    It is certainly stable at 1500 same timings.

    So the question for the community is how can I min max my memory?

    Should I settle for lower frequency at tigher timings?
    Should I drop to 2t command rate and how much will I lose?
    Should I go for uncore speed above all else?

    Many thanks for advice!

    Can you give more info regarding the memory; brand, frequency, timings, etc

        I have a 980x and 12GB of 1600Mhz as well
        why run a higher BCLK than u have to? (I run many benchmarks and it doesn't gain anything, and u paid for an unlocked multi)
        try:
        BCLK=134
        CPU\MULTI=31
        MEM\MULTI=12
        UNCORE=21x (u have a 980x, it's more flexable with uncore)...or go for 24x and get a little better latency
        that will give u:
        cpu at 4.15Ghz, ram at 1608Mhz, uncore at 2800 or 3200 (21x to 24x both ways are 100% stable for me, but test at 2800 for now)
        and I always keep my ram at 1.5v, I up my QPI PLL to 1.3v though (I've found with 12GB u need more QPI PLL, but even overclocking my 12GB to 1800Mhz and 1T; I still keep at 1.5v, just more QPI PLL and/or VTT)
        obviously do everything at 1T, no need to ever go to 2T
