Compare the price of a boxed Thoroughbred XP 2200+ and the boxed 2,26 ghz p4... :)
Here in sweden the Intel is only about
20$ more expensive, and the sucker will give you
the choise to o/c to.
Put the Intel on a ddr based board and you'll get a quite cheap but still very high performance
setup that does'nt cost so mutch more than a amd system... :)

/Well, that's my opinion, disagree? Yell at me...

And at the moment quite valid as the difference here is about $50aus difference between them though sadly that Athlon is $200aus too much for me. :(
And the 533MHz FSB Intel has room to move. AMD has been putting all it weight behind the "Hammer" family rollout and sorta forgot the K7's.

166MHz FSB "Bartons" would be even better. ;)

AMD is cheaper, faster, and handles mutlitasking better than Intel's Chips. If you're going with AMD, be sure to buy a motherboard that has an option to turn off fans if CPU fails. AMD burns up within a matter of seconds.
