    That was the advantage of the GST in Australia, computer hardware used to be taxed at 21% (or something similar) and now it's only 10%.
    Although it took a long time for retailers to hand down the savings.

        well i wouldn;t know....at the time GST came in i was still screwing aorund trying to o/c my imac...btw o/c an imac is a very complicated procedure due to the complexity of the imac's insides and the fine soldering required to o/c...one of these days i mite have another go....although i could mod my sexy imac into a windfarm:D

          Britain always get extortion of the first degree. Not suprising. It kinda seems like aussies pay out duplicate of what they should be. That's a real bummer!!

            Well, then it sounds like you guys should declare independence!

            Mention plans to become a Democratic nation, and I guarantee we'd back you.... which means, Britian would give up without a fight, and then you'd be able to keep your own money! And Govern yourselves.
