  • Overclocking a 1.8 AMD 64 athalon

A friend overclocked his processor and set his setting to optimized in the BIOS. He claims that after 10 minutes his video goes screwy, so he changed the settings back. It was overclocked from 200.00 Hz to 210.00. He had 512 2300 RAM in 3200 slots, do those match? A 128 DDR radeon 9200. He says that after returning his settings to default it continues doing the same screen flickers then no video. I need to determine what motherboard he has, but if anyone can shed some light on the issue, I would really appreciate finding out what happened.

    And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

    This doesn't quite make sense.

Did he just return the settings, or has he reset the CMOS?

In any case, I probably can't say for sure what the problem is until I know what motherboard he's using.

Thanks, he said he completely disassembled his machine and then reassembled it, reset his BIOS to default, reformatted the hard disk, then reinstalled everything and it worked. But he thought he fried the processor. I appreciate the help.
