  • Setting your CPU Voltage

Just curious as to how you would go about figuring out what voltage to give your cpu.

Whether you increase it or decrease it depending on your fsb or multi whatever.

I have 1.600 right now with a multiplier of 9 and a fsb of 240. Any ideas? I kind of think it's a bit high.

What kind of chip is it?

Try it at stock voltage. Only increase it if you're suffering instability stock, in small increments, until you find stability. You may find that extra voltage isnt even necessary, or at least not as much as you have applied.

There is no chart. It's basically trial and error-- but always err on the side of caution.

      the chip is amd64 3200+ 2ghz stock.

Pretty sure stock voltage is 1.400

Set it back to default and increase it slowly until you find stability.

If you've got it back up to 1.6 and still dont find stability, it may not be your voltage thats the problem.
