  • i need feedback from you guys :)

    I recently built a system, and i was woundering if you guys could give me some useful tips like overclocking, drivers and bios :) because im nothing but a hardware n00b and i really need your help on this on :D

    Here's the system specs:

    Mainboard: Asrock k7s8X rev.3
    Processor: AMD Athlon XP2800+ Barton
    Video Card: Asus A9600XT
    Sound Card: 5.1 Onboard
    Hard Disk: Seagate 80GB 7200rpm
    Memory: Kingstone 512MB DDR400

    im counting on you guys to help me out :cool:

    ahhh i forgot i also got a crappy

    Celeron 1.0Ghz
    Geforce 2 mx400
    192Mb sdram
    10Gb

    what should i do why it??? overclock it untill it burns, or should i kill it with a rong bios :D ? i could try overclocking this crap...but i dont think it will work :flames: ... hoo what am i saying at least it ran hl2 beta at 8Fps which is extremely f****** crappy

          Looks like a slick system. But I woudl have to agree that you could have gone with a better MoBo, was that one from an older machine?

          There is a ton of threads in the video card forum about OCing those ATis. Nice choice on the Asus. Heres a nice little thread for ya. http://forums.tweaktown.com/showthre...threadid=15701
          I would go with ATis Catalyst drivers instead of the ones that came with the Asus board, mainly becuase those are likely older.
