  • Problem with Asus V8170 SE

Guys I need your help to the following problem :

Recently I bought an Asus V8170 SE graphics card with chipset nVidia GeForce4 MX420. In my PC I have 2 operations systems into two different hard disks: Windows XP Pro and Windows 98SE. In Windows XP Pro the graphics card installed normally and no problem occured but in windows 98SE after installing drivers and rebooting the machine the following message appeared : "Starting IOS device : ERROR : The registration of real memory in normal mode failed" and the machine halted. I download new drivers from Asus site but the problem remained. I downloaded new drivers from nvidia site but nothing happened...always the same message. In windows 98 only safe mode I can see.
My PC is a PIII 550MHz, 512MB Ram and motherboard QDI Advance 5/133.

I'm waiting for your answer ASAP...

    Thanks

Well, it's not the Direct X. Have you downloaded the latest Win98 chipset drivers for the mobo. New AGP drivers may be needed for DX8.1.
