  • Is It Drivers or Hardware!

Have this problem now for sometime but I am not sure when it came about because I stopped playing any games for about 5 months.

Running any serious game like MOH, Battlefield 1942, SplinterCell 1&2 I get one of two things at random,

Blue screen, with NV4Disp.dll or .sys not sure driver error

    or

the game just craps back out to windows.

Spec as below running XP Sp2 fully patched with DX9.0c. with nivida 66.81.

I have had to change the fan on the Graphics card as the old one kept falling off on one corner due to a plastic clip failure. I have running temps according to my Aerogate II sensor avg 49c. Is it possible that I caused a crack or something in the card when putting the new fan in with the mount screws through the board, is there a way I can test the board and drivers fully with a burn in test or something.

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks

Just and idea that has worked in the past. The NV4Disp error makes me think of corrupted video drivers. Maybe try using Driver Cleaner http://www.drivercleaner.net/ and then reinstalling your video drivers.
