Random Driver Problem

Ok so I started updating all my drivers the other day and the only one I need now is the one for my sound card. So I went to www.creative.com and downloaded the driver for it. Installation started and up popped an error message: Installation could not continue because no Sound Blaster card was detected on your system. Check to see if your card is correct or if it is properly intalled. WTF???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it is installed properly cause Ive been using it! I take the card out and what does it say written right on the card S-o-u-n-d B-l-a-s-t-e-r S-B !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No I did not mistake Sand Blister BS for Sound Blaster SB !!!! I know this is the right card! WTF is with the Creative drivers?? Is there anything I can do?

I generally recommend default WinXP drivers for anything besides the newer SoundBlaster cards. The Creative drivers are notorious for causing problems with the OS and the older boards.
