I fidisk'd this computer and when I installed the new o/s all the drivers loaded except the sound driver. Before I fdisk I checked the drivers and this is what I saw Sound,Video-C-media PCI audio Legacy device. CMI8338/C3DXPCI Audio device. Where could I find this driver for the sound?

as far as I know, c-media is only found as on-board audio so look up your mobo manufacture on the web and get the drivers from them
EDIT: I looked up C-media, and they only make chips, but they have a driver page too so you can check it out here: http://www.cmedia.com.tw/e_product_01.htm
btw, just as a note...their site is nearly impossible to read with Mozilla or Netscape....I had to dust off IE just to be able to veiw it properly

................and if you have a CD-RW, tape drive, Zip drive or other method of making a copy of that driver, be sure to do so or you will be doomed to repeat this process at every fresh install.
A seperate partition for DL'd drivers and programs works well too.The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.
