any performance gain in doing this? or should i just leave it with old ones? this would require doing the softmod again and i'm lazy.

I ended up having to roll back to 3.2, because funny stuff with games started happening, and everything was slow. It also wouldnt let me put the capture drivers in. The capture drivers went back in just fine with 3.2.

I haven't had the chance to thoroughly test all my apps other than UT2K3 and 3DMark03 since I upgraded from 3.2 to 3.4 but if you want to know about performance gains!!! :D

Amazing!! All other things being equal I ran 3DMark03 before and after upgrading the drivers alone this afternoon and my results were 4455 with 3.2 and 5099 with 3.4!! Not kidding! This is the biggest performance improvement I've ever seen with driver upgrades alone. I'll bet Nvidia just keeled over and got sick when this thing came out! :D :p

I was leaving the settings on the control panel to defaults.

Oh, I forgot to add the performance dropped by lots like -500 3d 01 and -100 3d 03. But the worst was I couldnt install the capture drivers at all untill rolling back to 3.2.

It seems strange that you would suffer such a performance loss while I saw such huge gains! One thing I did was make sure I very carefully uninstalled the old drivers and control panel prior to installing the new ones. Don't know if that would help.

Same thing happened with 2.8 (removed from ati site, just like 3.3) but much worse. With those, the score went up drasticly. And I had huge artifacts. The horse in the point sprite test was full of huge holes. Mech Merc was affected the worst. Had to roll back to 2.5 and all was fine but 2.5 wont support 3d 03.

That was with a radeon 7000vivo 64mb. And i even used regcleaner after the add/remove.

Maybe it depends on the card you are running. I'm on my third Radeon 9700Pro.
