  • V9? Good nuff?

My supplier is out of V7+, and as much as i like them, they arent going to have them, well for a while anyway. And since I want to get my stuff all at once, I was wondering is V9 good enough???
I know its aluminum, but it got Editor's choice on TT.
I know Wiggo says go w/ V7+, but will the V9 be as good?
BTW i am going to use it w. a duron 1.3 and a s2390 tyan mobo.
    And some sdram.
Not the best, but i got it for cheap!!!!

Or should i save my money, use the 6cu+ that i have laying around with a 60to80 adapter and 40cfm fan????

Considering that it is for a duron and they don't really get hot you would probably be fine if you stuck with your volcano 6cu+. It would be MORE then needed for a duron. They only pump out about 20 something maybe 30 Watts of heat as compared to athlon pumping 60-70+.

Ya can get away with a retail Athlon HSF on a Duron and get a bit of an overclock as well with the fitment of a better fan but yeah the V9 is ok for this CPU. :)

cool. the mobo i got is 100fsb (200DDR) so i cant really use any XPathlons in there, and duron1.3 is only like 30 bucks.

Cant wait for it to come in.

Does the V9 have the single or the 3 clip mechanism???
and if it comes with the single, where could i get the 3 clip one by itself????
