The snow in Cali is close enough that I can go boarding every weekend (not that I can aford to, but I could), and far enough away that I can go to the beach and enjoy a sunny day.

at least we don't get snow down here though, snow sux
LOL yes, I have to say I love the TX weather for the most part.
Grew up mostly in MO, so I'm used to the snow and the whole hair freezing in the morning ordeal :D
Kinda miss those snow forts I used to make.

not much snow anywhere this year - I've only had to shovel twice - and both times it was just a couple inches
We usually get a couple of the 2 foot deep type storms each year to dig out of.
....Winter's not over yet though...it's quite possible to have a good snow storm here in the last half of April.....or it might be 25C and sunny, you never know.
