  • The noise in the Zalman Z9 +

I hear the distinct noise of Z9 +. Though of course it could be due to CM Hyper 212 + (via BIOS exhibited 37.5% fan speed). Advise what better to buy 120mm fans, and how to install them. Native fans from Zalman, too loud, but not annoyingly so.

Do you know what rpm the fans are? You want 1600-1700 rpm ones, noctua and akasa Apache fans are silent and offer good cooling,or you could buy a fan controller and slow the speed of your existing fans

Re: The noise in the Zalman Z9 +

I have a Sunbeam RHK-S(Sunbeam RHK-BK for the black color) that fits in a 5.25" bay. It supports 20watts per channel and works well for a $10 fan controller. The problems I've only seen was the molex plug that it draws power from popped up from a plastic tab breaking but it's easily fixable and that the led's are very bright(easy to fix by tinting the led's or simply cutting the wires). It comes with quite a bit of cables to let you add more than one fan to one channel or adapt a molex fan to the fan header.

If you want something that would look nicer then you should look at a Sunbeam PL-RS-6. You can control up to 6 channels which can supply up to 30watts per channel. This fan controller costs up to $35.

Problem was a fan of hyper 212 +, bought a heat-resistant silicone gaskets from vibration. Now was barely audible noise from the passage of air flow through the grid housing. But thanks for the answers.
