Hi, has anyone had issues with the stock fan that comes with the i7 cpu?
I've just purchased a i7 930 cpu and the healtsink either keeps coming loose or making a rather strange 'ticking' sound. Sometimes the fan just ceases to start up entirely when powering the PC on.
The 'ticking' sound doesn't come from a cable touching it. I'm assuming the heatsink is coming loose because when I stand the case vertically I get the ticking sound and the fan appears to be slower, but if I lay the case down it goes away and the fan spins faster.
I have reattached the heatsink a few times and the problem goes away temporarily, but this is becoming a really annoying issue.
Any thoughts?
