Nickel plated CPU Cooler

Hi,

I was just wondering what are the benefits of nickel plated CPU cooler? Do they offer longer life span? or offer better cooling performance compared to just copper base?

Its mostly there to fight oxidation/ and provide an aesthetic apeal. It also will tend to clean up a bit easier than exposed copper bases, due to the milling marks that are filled by the plating. In the testing I do, I have yet to see a Nickel plated cooler that was even more than a degree cooler than its aluminum and copper (exposed) versions.
