I've seen others asking about the VF700 but to be honest I can't say for sure, I was planning on a VF1000 now they have finally managed to get the ZM-RHS88 available here.

The NH-U12P cools my 1 year old AMD64X2 4200 overclocked on an asus m2npv-vm mobo at 2420MHz(2200MHz stock) stable at 20c-23c idle and 32-34 loaded on oblivion. With 2 other 120mm fans blowing in my Sonata 2 case and a vf900 cooling my 7600gt ko. Its a quiet setup. I did pay $71 dollars shipped for this bad boy. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!RIGHT (It is alot for a air cooler)
Waiting for my tax return so i can get a new build.

Eventually I purchased a Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme after many hours of researching.
Just check and make sure your case is wide enough to take the beastie.

Re: Best cpu cooler for socket 775

Benchmark Reviews has recently tested many of the top coolers mentioned in their Best CPU Cooler Performance - Q1 2008 article. All of these coolers were tested with the same fan, to isolate performance, and were in stock form (not lapped or modified).

Keep in mind that your results are going to be different, since fans will vary the final cooling performance.

Re: Best cpu cooler for socket 775

The top cooler award for price and performance has to go to the Xigmatek HDT-S1283. My $30.00 Xigmatek is doing all the stomping, keeping my 2.6 @ 3.6, E6750 at a cool 24c while searching my 750 GIG HDD for a lot of accidently formatted hard earned data. Never goes over 45c, even in the heat of battle.

And it still kicks butt on all of the above mentioned coolers with the fan at it's lowest and barely audible speed, as observed in the following lab test.

                      Check out this link...

P.S. Oh yea, VCore set at 1.46, 1.42 after droop.
