  • Water cooling recomendations

Summer is kicking in. And since my air cooling just doesn't cope all that well with the Australian conditions I think it's almost about time for me to convert to water cooling.
I am new to the whole water cooling concept.
And wouldn't like to spend heaps of money on cooling.
    I run a P4 and R9800P.
    Do waterblocks for R9800P exist?

Yes, Dangerden makes some sweet water blocks called Maze4 that you should read up on.
Do a google and you'll see.

Have yet to find any negative reviews on them and they win most tests. They tend to outperform most blocks out there, however they may not be the absolute cheapest around but you get what you pay for. :2cents:

      I've seen the Maze4, impressive.

Do you know any Australian online stores that sell these sorts of parts?

After searching blindly through the web, I found a few online Australian stores.

          PC Cooling Australia
          Chilled PC
          Below Zero

Also how does the Aquarius II perform?

Hmmmm, I forgot PCCG had such an extensive range of water cooling compared to some online stores.
Is buying kits better then hand picking everything?

Don't bother with TT Watercooling stuff

Also, if you can spare about $130 for the waterblock, try a Cathars Little River Cascade from here:

I second that, if you don't do a watercooling setup right with high quality parts it won't even be better than an air cooled setup. The stuff from Cathar is the best you can get.

I'll have to calculate the total cost if I'm picking the parts seperately and see if I'm strapped for cash.

Been browsing around and saw the Swiftech Watercooling Kits. The H20-8500. Is this worth the price?

ummm... How much do you want to spend, and what do you want to cool (CPU only, CPU + VGA, CPU + VGA + Chipset)?

Around the $300-450 AUD. Could stretch a bit more.
Mostly looking to cool CPU and GPU.

A nice little setup that i've just snapped together:

Little River Cascade - $130 Cathar
                            Eheim 1048 - $130 Chiled PC
                            2m 1/2 Clearflex60 - $14 Chiled PC
'87 Camry Heatercore - ~$50 from the wreckers
                            Enermax 12cm adjustable RPM Fan - ~$30
                            =$354
                            +
Videocard waterblock of your choice :)

                            Just don't forget postage
