  • SN68SG2 - RAM CAS timing in BIOS?

    Hi Eric,

It appears that the SN68SG2 does not have a selectable CAS timing option in the BIOS menu.

Otherwise, the SN68SG2 seems to have a fairly good set of RAM timing options, although no Command Rate option.

The Shuttle web site seems to indicate that overclocking is a feature of the SN68S.

    Overclocking*)
    User friendly overclocking features:
    Clock frequency: CPU, Memory, PCI-Express
    Voltage: CPU, Memory, PCI-Express, Chipset
Whether overclocking or not, CAS timing selection is very desirable to maximize RAM performance.

Is there some hidden menu in SN68s BIOS for CAS timing selection that I haven't noticed? If not, why was CAS timing selection omitted?

    Best regards,
    dnamechanic

    hey dnamechanic,

According to my buddies here you can find the CAS timing in
Advanced Chipset Features > DRAM Configuration > DDRII Timing Item> set Enable
and you will be able to set CAS timing.

Let me know how that goes.

      Hi Eric,

According to CPU-Z, the BIOS is dated 8-28-2007. This I believe is the most recent BIOS on the Shuttle site.

Sorry, I don't see the CAS timing item. Here is a photo of the screen:
