  • BOIS settings for CPU and DDR2 on SG33G5M

    Hello,

    Since yesterday I'm the owner of a SG33G5M: E6750, 2GB 6400 DDR2.

Now I ran CPU-Z and saw my CPU was running at 2.002 GHz and I thought it should be 2.67 GHz.
The memory is running at 400 MHz, while I thought it was 800 MHz.

    See pics below:

The bios doesn't seem to detect the cpu max settings by it self.
The multiplier should be 8 I believe (now it is 6), but bios doesn't show me the entry to change it (the manual shows the entry however).

Can someone please help me setting up my bios correct?

The cpu frequency could be due to the Intel speed step power saving the speed step is setup to reduce the cpu frequency when not needed to save power and keep it running cooler. As for the memory speed remember its ddr2 and ddr2 800 mhz memory actually runs at 400 mhz since it double data rate on each clock cycle it can preform 2 operations so the effective frequency is double the actual memory frequency that is normal. Both of those conditions are normal unless you change the setting in the bios.

      Thanks,

      So the memory looks ok.
The CPU would then be difficult to measure because of the intelligent power save feature. Does the SG33G5M automatically recognise the processor and configures multiplier en FSB automatically.

I noticed now, while cpu-z was running, when I started a programm the core speed went up to 2.66 GHz.
So it's working as you said.
