RunCore Pro IV ssd not detected anymore

Hi,
I bought my SSD RunCore Pro IV 64 Gb Sata II drive on 2009-05-27 from mydigitaldiscount web site.
I installed my system on it and until today morning all was ok.
After that I powered computer off and after 6 hours I try to power on my computer but HDD is not detected anymore. Not even in BIOS.
If I plug my other HDD in same cables all is ok.
The RunCore Pro IV is not detected anymore.
It is simply dead.

Any advice will be welcomed since I did not make any backup and I have important work on that drive :(
I am verry disapointed.

I clean all SSD HDD connectors (power and data) it was the same.
After reading some posts in this forum I try to connect to RunCore HDD via included USB interface but still no luck.

Few minutes ago I used another USB to SATA adapter I have here and it worked.
After recovering all my data I connected the HDD directly to PC and now it is back and working.

I really can't understand what happened...

I've registered to report this too.
I installed mine yesterday (well it was the 64GB Zif connector one for the HP NC1000).
Every other re-boot or restore from Hibernation (when the power lead isn't in) it won't see the boot disk.
I've found attaching the power lead and retrying makes it work again.
But this isn't going to be possible trying to restore on a train!!!

Any ideas as to a cause?
Firmware?

That is definitely something we need to look at ASAP. I will tell our tech guy to come take a look at this post and try to help solve the problem.

In the mean time both of you please try updating your BIOS to the latest version. We have found this fixes many power and compatibility problems in most computers.

Hi,
I have an updated Asus P5Q Premium BIOS (P5Q Premium BIOS 2001 from 2009/03/18) and I update every time a new version is available.

Today I get this problem again... I try to do all I can to make it work but so far no luck.

...

After many tries I managed to restart the RunCore Pro IV SSD nut I am desperate now.

We really need a solution to this stupid problem.

Again when I need it most and fast the RunCore Pro IV SSD is not there !!!

Now this is frustrating :(
I wanted to upgrade my system not downgrade.

It is possible that one of my engineers found the problem.
It seems that it is a hardware problem... Will post more info when we are sure about it.

good, 'cause the BIOS upgrade suggestion has made things worse (or they were always going to degrade in the first week of use).
I've had the odd bsod on resume from standbye, and a lot of flickinig into the BIOS and trying to find the drive, re-booting and then finally it sees it.
It's relief when you see windows boot.

how do you log an incident? Seems a bit hit and miss relaying problems in a forum (even if an employee promised to take up our problem)

I was actually waiting for reply from RunCore team...
We found the problem about this RunCore SSD and it was already fixed by one of my engineers.
We can discuss this in private or via PM but you must solve this since many customers have this problem and they payed for a working product.

My Pro VI 256 just went away after turning on and off my MacBook Pro. I can't get it to come up again. Help.

hi,
two options for you:

1- send the HDD back for replacement (it may happen again)
2- open the SSD if you have electronic skills and re solder the connector + some capacitors near it (you loose warranty)

Thank you for the advice. I'm not going to do anything with the electronics and I may have to send it back. However, I did open it up, take it out and unconnected the connector, reconnected it and then put it back in. The SSD then booted the Mac. I was able to do a SuperDuper for a back-up. However, I can't find the SSD in the settings for Start Up Disk, although it does still start the Mac up.
Very strange and not what I expected by buying this.
