Standby not working

After installing my RunCore IV SATA 2.5 128GB drive, the standby feature doesnt work anymore in windows XP sp3. any ideas?

Many problem can make the Standby not working(some drivers not installed, big memory etc.), What's the message display when you try to Standby? And the hardware config.

dell xps m1710, there is no error message, it goes into standby when it comes out of standby its just a black screen, also sometimes when the computer reboots it cant find the hard drive, i have to turn the computer off wait a few seconds and turn it on, then it boots

Maybe you update your power management driver and BIOS to the latest version and try.
