Hi,
I am experiencing problems with getting my 2 RAM modules to run at 1600Mhz. As I understand the specifications the voltage should be set somewhere in between 1,7v - 1,9v in order to get to 1600Mhz at 9,9,9,27 timings, something that I seem not be able to obtain.
The first thing I've noticed is that i cant set voltage above 1,8v. If I put 1,85v or above even with modules running at 200x6,66=1333Mhz the system won't post.
Next I tryed to determine what maximum voltage that I can give to RAM where they are still stable and found that the highest voltage that wont give me errors in memtest86+ is 1,7v, with modules running at 200x6,66=1333Mhz. At 1,75v I start to get errors on the 7th test in memtest86+ program.
Finally I increased FBS and came up that the highest speed that was 215x6,66=1432Mhz.
So my question is about your thoughts on what might be causing this rather bad performance, and wether I can do something to correct it.
Here is the list of my components:
Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P (F4g)
AMD Phenom II 720BE
Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 4GB (9,9,9,27)
Gainward GTS250 1024Mb
Samsung Spinpoint 2x160Gb (Raid0)
Western Digital 500Gb
Antec Phantom Power 500W
