  • Set up issue with KHX16000D3ULT1K3/6GX Kit

I can't get the above referenced kit to run very well in the following rig:

    DFI X58 T3H6
    i7 920 w/Xigmatek HDT1283
    HD4850 Crossfire
    Corsair HX620

CPU is clocked 185 BClock for 3700 MHz
I can get the RAM to run DDR3 1450 no problem, VDimm 1.65V.

Trying to get up to DDR3 1850 is a problem. All RAM timings are set to auto for all of these attempts.
I have my QPI voltage at 1.2 normally, but upping it say 1.35 doesn't work. I tried 1.45V but I could not get the machine to boot at that QPI voltage. Around 1.4V will boot, but if I run Sandra memory benchmark I am getting woeful numbers about 40% less than my OCZ memory clocked to DDR3 1450.

Something is off here and if someone could give me a little guidance as to what might be wrong I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

Can you make it use the SPD settings? If you can make it use the XMP1 setting, it is set for DDR3 1866 @ 7-8-7-20-1T.

Otherwise, get the latest memset, click on the SPD button, write down the XMP1 timings, and then manually set them.

      thanks for the reply,
I had figured it out a while back, the RAM needs alot of QPI V (1.6-1.7V) in order to sing.
