The SATA ports on the Z790 Gaming X AX motherboard do not recognize my WD Blue 1TB and 4TB 2.5" SSD. If I go to the BIOS menu Settings > IO ports > Sata Configuration shows sata ports 0-7 are enabled but shows [Not Installed}.. The SSD controller is working as my older DVD optical drive does show as installed. To prove it is not a power/cabling issue I used the optical drives/power and cable on the SSD drives and still does not show the SSD as installed.
The support list shows only three specific WD 2.5" drives, but the SATA connector has been a long established standard and never had drive connection problems before. These SSD drives are recognized by my prior motherboard and my laptop so they are not defective. I do not have any M2 drives and VMD is disabled, so no possibility of conflicts. Boot CSM Support enabled/disabled does not make a difference. I have F7 bios but there was only a GUI update bios since and nothing about any SATA fixes.
