RobN, I appreciate your help!

Nope. Nada. Code shows almost instantly and stays there. Never seen this before. Tried to boot EFIFLASH but that didn't do anything either. Board just acts like it's bricked.

Thanks much. I'll give it a try. Haven't messed with this old board in years, it's been pretty reliable as my wife's daily driver.

First try booting when holding F9 to see if it will show system info
Then I believe that booting with CTRL F10 Swaps main and backup bios

Z77-UD5H code db "flash update has failed"
Long time no login here. Anyway I have an old Z77 board that stopped working, and will not boot to even the BIOS.
LED display appears to say "db" or flash update failed according to the manual.
I have not tried to update the BIOS in years, so no idea where this came from, but in any event the board is currently unusable.
Seems like there was a way to invoke the secondary BIOS to flash the main BIOS by holding the power and reset buttons in at the same time, but it's not working for me.
Not sure how I can reflash the BIOS if it won't boot.
Any ideas? Help much appreciated or else this thing is a boat anchor.Tags: None
