  • Aorus 390 IA AC/DC Loadline: Instant Crash

I've seen this elsewhere but confirmed it and wanted to surface it here. On some of the Z390 motherboards like the Ultra, interacting with the IA AC or DC Loadline setting at all in the BIOS instantly freezes the computer (don't even have to save the setting). I'm on the latest BIOS, which I believe is F5.

Pressing enter on it crashes the bios because there are 6250 possible values, too many for the pulldown menu. I suspect IMON OFFSET and tREFI (a RAM subtiming) would also crash the bios as well.
Just arrow key onto it and enter a value then arrow away. This works.

REMEMBER NEVER GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE HIGHER VALUES! IA AC DC Loadline acts like an intel designed loadline slope for the CPU VID, designed to be used with adaptive voltages at official turbo boost speeds (up to the maximum turbo multiplier) at stock settings without any other changes. Reference value for 4 and 6 core CFL parts is 2.10 mOhms or 210 in GB Bios and 21 in Asus Bios (different dividers), and 1.6 mOhms for 8 core parts. For KabyLake and Skylake it's 1.80 mOhms.
