  • GA-X58A-UD7 boot problems

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. Wish I had found it earlier. I have a GA-X58A-UD7 MB. I've just started having problems with. After upgrading my memory and subsequently having to power down my system. On restart the system goes thru a normal boot and stops at post error code 50. Sometimes I can recycle power and it will boot ok. I know this is indicating the USB keyboard and mouse did not initialize. I have tried a different keyboard, same problem, I have also used a PS/2 keyboard and still have the same problem. I have been using my existing USB keyboard and mouse configuration for several years with no problems. Eventually after repeated boot attempts it will finally initialize. Any thoughts on this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Re: GA-X58A-UD7 boot problems

I have 12GB (3x4G) of ram using Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600. The error code displayed indicates the boot sequence stopped at the initialization of the USB keyboard and mouse. I was able to use the reset on the board to clear the problem and finish booting the system however my keyboard and mouse were dead. I shut down and used a PS/2 keyboard and mouse and was able to get my system up and running again. I tried using different USB ports however the USB keyboard and mouse are still dead.

          Re: GA-X58A-UD7 boot problems

An update on my problem. I was able to get around the boot problem by using the reset button on the board. The system will then boot up normally. I had to reinstall the software for my keyboard and mouse. All works fine now. What's curious is this boot problem only occurs after turning off the power supply. After a normal shutdown through windows the system boots up normally. Still not sure what's going on, Bios is latest rev. Would like to know what's going on, but for now things are working.
