  • Gigabyte bios rollback question

Hi, i just updated my bios with the @bios utility to f9 (i already updated to f8 some time ago and all worked perfectly) but now the f9 seems a little bit laggy (first time i'm entered in it was very laggy but the lag decreased a lot saving random settings) and sometimes doesn't load properly (black screen when pressing del, doesn't happen anymore since i switched to "old interface") but most important thing, since i've updated the bios, my gpu keeps having massive performance drops and i should reboot the pc serveral times to fix it, then if i reboot or turn off the pc again, there's chance that the problem returns.. my mobo is a z87x-d3h..
That's a very strange problem so i would rollback to F8, but how can i do? i saw BIOS downgrade this post, but i don't understand the fact of the mac address, what should i do exactly? it seems a bit risky to me and i'd like to understand every step.
Uh, if there is another way to do it, i'm glad to hear it.
    Thanks in advance.

Just try F9 => F8 in normal way with Q-Flash or @BIOS or in DOS.

Already tried, @bios says that "the motherboars is protected" because i'm trying to load an older version
Q-Flash gives me an error as well (i don't remember what is says exactly but something related to a wrong version)
It isn't normal? I thought that the only way to do a rollback was using FPT
      Thank you.

Tried, but when i open the .bat file, i see a cmd window opening but it closes immediatly and nothing happens. I have w8.1 x64
(renamed the f8 in bios.bin changing the extension following the HOWTO.txt)
          Any ideas?

Doesn't work. I should try to edit even the autoexec.bat?

I've done a bootable usb with rufus, when i tried to copy the FPT files in the main folder i saw that there were already 2 files (created by rufus for the bootable usb) autoexec.bat and config.sys.. i should overwrite these two?
Sorry but i never mess with these things, and thanks again for the precious help, I can't wait to get rid of this f9 bios.

                    Yea,overwrite boot files.
                    Place original BIOS Z87XD3H.F8 and edit autoexec.bat (or type)..... "fpt.exe -f Z87XD3H.F8"

Done, but i got two errors saying that something is missing/my config.sys is corrupted, and it says that the program cannot be run in DOS mode, using rufus i've done a disk bootable with FreeDOS (the default option) maybe is because of that? i tried to redownload everything but it keeps giving that problem

                          http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ash-guide.html
I followed this guide and the bootable works with the gigabyte bios files efiflash.exe and z87xd3h.F8 downloaded from the official website (but it says that i have a newer version in my bios and i can't do nothing) the problem is using FPT, i move all the FPT folder+bios file in the bootable usb and i get an error, i should move only FPT.exe and the z87xd3h.F8 file like i'm flashing normally?
Thank you for your patience, but i'm pretty scared to do things because i think that an error here would be a problem.

Normally, all files should be in (except "How to use" and Autoexe.bat if you prefer to type command) and you are withwin rare one who having problem with fpt.

                            Btw,
                            what is your Backup BIOS?
You can "kick" (use) that to overflash Main BIOS.

Now i'll try again, but i'm pretty sure i'm doing everything in the right way.
I have no idea about my backup bios, i heard that updating to f9 you overwrite even the backup bios (not sure if true) how can i check?
Edit: I tried again but i still get the same errors, i don't remeber exactly what it says but something like "file corrupted on /boot/drivers/filename" and it says that my config.sys have error/errors.
(and that i can't run the program in DOS)
