Cannot change Memory Multiplier

Hi. Whenever I try to change the memory multiplier the system will not boot. In the past it used to restore default settings but now with F7j it goes into an infinite reboot loop; can anybody help me with this, I don't understand what's going on? Even raising it 200 doesn't work.

Which motherboard model do you have?
What is the motherboard's revision number?

Please provide detailed information about ALL OF THE HARDWARE in your system.

You have a GA-X99-GAMING 5, but an i7 3840k does not exist. Given an X99 board, you must have an i7-5820K or i7-59xxK.

Also, no specs on your Crucial memory, such as speed, 2133? What is the full model number?

Changing the memory multiplier on X99 boards can change the "strap" setting of the BCLK, from 100 to 125 for example. That causes a CPU OC that might not work depending upon the CPU voltage settings. No mention of any OC or not.

Plus you're using a Beta BIOS that given what I've read, will fix one issue but may not include other fixes.

One thing to try, NO guarantee it will work, is to press the Reset button when it enters the reboot loop.

This is with no OC applied to it, and the speed is a 2400Mhz. Apologies I didn't mention this earlier, I was in a rush to get all of the details in my assembled system. BG112SG.LH is what it says on the heat spreader.

I'm using a beta BIOS based on a thought that it would fix the memory multiplier problem. Apparently it took away the ability to restore after a bad OC.

At this point I just want to know why I can't change the memory multiplier.
