I dont think memtest will pick it up if imc voltage isn't enough

if it does this from cold/first bootup then its memory or cpu memory controller voltage

The Haswell cpu's have a pretty strong IMC. I've run 2 different sets of 2400 RAM with no voltage tweaks. But, depends on cpu and RAM.

I have know heard from Gigabyte support and I am testing different solutions.

First I have removed both video cards and the motherboard starts up 8 out of 10 times now. Running on the on-board Intel output.

Next I tried with a default bios setup, except for SATA controller in Raid. No start up issues.

Now I have updated the bios with the XMP memory settings and test if that works.

Can it really be the video cards the causes my motherboard to start???

They are two Gigabyte GV-N770OC-4GD rev 2.0 in SLI and connected by four separate PCI-E cables from the Corsair AX1200i power supply.

UPDATE - The board now start every time. So I guess I should try each video card one at a time to see witch one fails?

The cards was placed in PCIEX16_1 and PCIEX16_2. that is port 1 and 3.

Is it possible to connect the SLI bridge wrong? I mean each card has 2 SLI connectors. Can the bridge go on either?

I think the bridge should work either way. I'm not really an Nvidia guy, I only have ATI cards for years now. Easy enough to find out I guess.

are both cards gigabyte? and they running the same bios versions? I know they release a few updates

can check in gpu-z as for the sli bridge I have no idea

I have been testing several hardware combinations in the last few day... lot of work

First, both cards are Gigabyte and they the same bios version according to GPU-Z 0.7.9.

With only one card the pc starts every time. After several days without any startup errors, I install the second card (with out SLI bridge)
No issues found.

SLI bridge installed. SLI option not recognized by Windows. Suddenly after several restarts Windows sees the SLI bridge and I activate SLI.

The computer has restarted and started from closed state every time now. I really do not understand what might have been wrong?

Some Gigabyte software like APP center now gives a different value. This has also been reported to Gigabyte support.

Next step will be to erase the Samsung SSD and make a clean new installation.

I thank you for all your help and hope the issues (whatever they was) are gone now.

Hello all

My brand new build have started a strange thing.
It will only start every (about) 15th time I press the start button.

Is it the number of times you push the button or the time since it was last shut down, or since the first button press? I'm having an issue that seems to be 'time since last powerdown' related.
