    Gigabyte Z97X Gaming GT and i7 4790k: flash bios for update

    Hi,
    I just bought a motherboards Z97X Gaming GT on which I would like to install a CPU 4790K.
    Probably the motherboard comes with firt release bios F2.
    The plate with this bios will recognize immediately the cpu?
    Can still be able to allow to make the flash of the bios at the ultimate version?
    In other words, with the F2 bios (first release), can i however plug the i7 4790k in the socket and to flash the motherboard with F5 version?

    yes,it should support the 4790k out of the box,then just update the bios to latest version

      Mobo probably will recognize my new cpu as an 4790?
      Z97 should have native support

          Since Intel marketed the Z97 chipset for Devil's Canyon it would be might strange for it not to support the new cpu's.
          We now know that even the Z87 chipset will support DC with a proper BIOS and that Intel was blowing smoke to sell the new chipset.....

            Thank you mate, the only problem is that in the cpu support list the first bios (F2) there is not included the i7 4790k...

              Yeah....that makes sense (sort of) since you can't buy the 4790K yet. But soon, I hope.

                  Like I said, the only reason it's not listed is most likely because the 4790K isn't for sale yet.
                  The Z97 chipset supports Devil's Canyon, there is no doubt about that. But ask whoever you must....

                      To be save,I suggest you to update to BIOS F5.
                      BIOS F2 has older CPU Intel MicroCode, then BIOS F5.

                        Yes i know this, but the really question is: the mobo will can recognize however the cpu for afford me of to flash the bios at the new version?
                        Or i must get an old cpu for make the flash bios?
                        I know that z97 have native support for Intel DC...

                          They posted pic of ASRock Z87 board with 4790K,which have same CPU MicroCode as BIOS F2,
                          so probably you can boot in BIOS and flash to F5.
