Gigabyte Z97x-SLI windows 8.1 SM bus missing

Hi all,
Anyone using the z97x from gigabyte? I tried installing the intel chipset driver on windows 8.1 but it doesn't seem to do anything and my "sm bus controller" driver is still missing. I tried to look for series 9 chipset on intel's website and nothing is there either. Maybe this chipset is too new? THanks.

What is it you expect the chipset driver to do? Or do you mean you don't think it installed? You can look in Control Panel /Device Manager / System and see if there are any 9 series listings (well on Win 7 I have no idea about Win 8)
Anyway INF 10.0.13 is on the download page above or on your motherboard's site. It's the one I'm running on my UD5H.

I found the problem was because I didn't do a fresh install of windows and just used the same hard drive that came out of my previous computer and I think it had remnants of the old drivers so it screwed up intel's inf update utility. Thank you anyway!

Sure. I did the same thing and eventually did a clean install of Windows.
