    Cold bootup - Takes 3 attempts - Any ideas?

    When I turn my system completely off, and then turn it on, sometimes it takes 3 times before it boots into windows.
    The first time, it turns on, screens blank, for about 10 seconds, then the system shuts off, turns back on after 3 seconds, same thing, 3rd time usually goes normally into windows. Any ideas what could be causing this?
    If I just reboot my pc in windows 8, this does NOT happen.
    I7 - 2600K
    Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H (bios F20e mod)
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB)
    Sapphire 7970
    ASUS XONAR DX
    Windows 8.1 64 bit

    how much cpu/vtt is set or being used in the bios?

    also tested without soundcard installed? just to rule that out

      Just running optimized Defaults in bios right now, no OC'ing going on, except XMP profile 2 for my ram.

        you might need a touch more cpu/vtt for the memory controller,xmp wont adjust that and with 16gb you might need more than stock 1.05v

        id set it to 1.10v and test regarding cold bootups,cold boots are usually ram/memory controller voltage related
