    2 hour small FTTs pre-test PASSED :)



    I'll run blend and if it passes 2 hours, I'll let it keep going for the full 8. I figure that might save some testing time!

        I will run Large FTTs overnight for 8 hours and then small FTTs tomorrow morning if all goes well. I'm really hoping I can build on these settings and get closer to that 4.0 and even the elusive 3.85 but for now I hope they can tackle the dreaded large FTTs for 8 hours!

                I'm going to try raising MCH Core a notch to see if it makes much difference. I hope that's not a step in the wrong direction!

                    Try raising Cpu PLL from 1.57 to 1.59 volts.
                    The highest Cpu PLL setting that I would use is 1.61 volts.

                    I'm surprised that tRFC = 52 is still stable in your successful tests with your memory speed running at 980MHz.
                    Set tRFC = 62.

                    Your memory might be stable with 5-5-4-12 primary memory timings.
                    I would NOT try the 5-5-4-12 timings with tRFC = 52.

                    HWiNFO reports Vcore = 1.296 with LLC enabled during your tests.
                    You might be able to lower Cpu Vcore from 1.3250 one click to 1.31875 or possibly two clicks to 1.3125 volts.
                    I would NOT try even lower Vcore settings until you reach your final overclock.

                    MCH Core that is too high or too low will nuke you every time.

                      I did have half of this 'extra special' memory tested by a pro you know! ;)

                      I will change tRFC and CPU PLL to your suggestions. Almost time for bed here though but if the test fails I'll post the results before I go.

                          Memset = 980MHz (490 x 2) and your bios template says 960MHz.
                          ET6 MCH Core = 1.22 and in your bios template it is 1.20.

                          Some strange HWiNFO information:
                          • minimum Vcore = 0.624
                          • minimum DIMM = 1.296
                          • elaped time = 1:27:40

                          In post #596, MCH Core = 1.22, the same setting as you used in post #593.

                          Maybe you should set MCH Core back to 1.20 and re-test with the current tRFC (62) and CPU PLL (1.59) settings.

                            Jim you have the eyes of a hawk! The test ran for so long as I forgot to check on it for a while but I had forgotten to change MCH Core back to 1.2. I therefore re-tested at MCH Core = 1.20, tRFC (62) and CPU PLL (1.59). The system lasted 11 minutes:



                            I will try tRD = 9 before I go to work and see if that fails before I go.

                                I hate to say it but I think that you need to change DRAM Performance Enhance from Turbo to Standard and manually enter some of the memory settings.

                                Another option is further tweaking of MCH Reference and/or Cpu Reference voltages.

                                Years ago a few claimed to have positive results with CPU Clock Skew and/or MCH Clock Skew tweaks but there was very little information for these settings.

                                A last ditch option is to buy a Haswell system with a K-model cpu for overclocking. $$$ $$$
