be carefull not to get liquid ultra on any of the line of transistors, could use a thin slither of electrical tape to cover them

you could have used the wooden block method

I most definitely have lower temps now boondocks. @wazza300: Yeah I could've used the wooden block method, but the idea of the IHS potentially being lost after flying across the room crossed my mind so I just went ahead and took my time using the razor method which took about an hour.

            Re: Gigabyte ga-z87x-oc (lga 1150)

On my 4770k I put MX4 on the surface mounted components. I only did this in case somehow the CLP managed to get on them.

Never thought of that. I had nothing to worry a/b. I made sure I didnt get any liquid ultra on any of the line of transistors.

Hey man I'm using this board. Its solid, plenty of overclocking options and got my 4770k to 4.6 on 1.3v with little tweaking. Was all good until i updated to the latest F8 bios and it borked everything. Constant BSOD's. Luckily its got a dual bios switch

Thanks man. I actually went with my judgment and purchased the EVGA Z87 FTW instead.
