  • GA G41M-COMBO DDR3 Error

My motherboard ga g41m combo supports ddr3 1066 and 1333 O.C. up to 8gb memories.
My cpu is intel core 2 duo e6600 1066 fsb speed. When i instal the memories the pc not even boots and starts beeping like (didididdidididididdi)
then is trying to restart and the same is happening again. What should i do?
I dont have access to bios when these memories are instaled.
I have also 2 ddr2 memories 1gbx2, so do i have to change any settings with these and then instal the new one,
and if yes wich settings and what timings(?)

    Thanks in advance.

      Re: GA G41M-COMBO DDR3 Error

You would more than likely either have to clear the BIOS after putting the DDR3 sticks in. Or make sure before changing out the DDR2 sticks that all memory related settings were set to Auto, and even then a BIOS clear may be necessary before successful boot.

Also consider that the DDR3 you have may be incompatible with the motherboard and that that maybe too is what's causing this headache.
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

I tryed to reset bios by pull out the mobo battery but that didnt help...
I saw in this forum a thread (http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...3-mmemory.html)
that i might need a lower in frequency ram to set the settings before put on
the ddr3 memories, but even if i borrow a ddr3 lower memory what settings should i change?
Pls help becouse i have to test it fast...

            Re: GA G41M-COMBO DDR3 Error

DDR3 memory compatibility is usually a problem with older systems.
Check out http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post475159, post #27 for a memory kit that might work with your system.

As stated above, you need to post detailed information about your system in your forum signature and/or using the PC Specs feature.

We need detailed information about ALL OF THE HARDWARE in your system.

We can best help you after you create a detailed hardware list in the System Specs
portion of your forum profile at the bottom of the profile page or in your forum signature.
Be sure to include brand names and model numbers.
When you are done editing or creating your hardware list, save the settings.
