gigabyte motherboard EP43T-UD3L and RAM problem

hey i have the motherboard
GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-EP43T-UD3L (rev. 1.4)
and the intel Q9550 quad core and the nvidia asus gts 450
the problem is i cannot install more than 8gb of ddr3 eventhought the board supports up to 16gb
everytime i go pass the 8gb the pc begins to freeze and malfunction
i have upgraded to the latest bios and tried several rams from different manufacturers
i have now 8gb ddr3 kingston ram but cannot get to 16gb :(

anyone had this happen to him before?

From the supported RAM list of your MB, these look like your only option for 16GB ((2x4GB)x2) that are still sold.
