Re: About Intel Management Engine firmware
I'm looking to disable AMT as deep as it can be disabled.
The best solution would be removing ME region from the bios, but after some reading I found modern chipsets/bios-es cant work without some ME functionality such as ICC. Dont want to get a brick.
But yet.. I see some ME feature control in FITC. Can disable standard manageability, PAVP, anti-theft, etc.
Most wanted feature to disable is dynamic module loader.
Is it safe ? Anyone tried ?

Re: About Intel Management Engine firmware
Hello, I thank the partner for sharing with us this info. I have searched many sites but found nothing, in fact, I'm Spanish. Thanks to all this important info, now I can "clean" the Intel ME Region.
Usually it's simple, and we do backup of damaged Bios, and replace everything but I region ..... but there are cases where our BIOS chip is dead, and that's when we have to build a ME Region in white, as there are manufacturers like Asus, which does not provide, or the latest BIOS from HP, which are currently impossible to decrypt.
Therefore, I thank infinitely partner, because with all these tools, we have the ability to bring up a team in this situation.
Thanks from Spain !!!!!

Re: About Intel Management Engine firmware
Hello, there's something I don't understand. In part 2 of your post you say to flash the new ME firmware. Then the thread continues ansd you say one needs to prepare the bios with a new ME. What is this needed for? I mean, I flashed the new ME firmware to two laptops and everything is working just fine, I didn't modify any bios nor flash a new bios. So what effect did this new ME fw have to the system, with the unmodified bios I mean.

Re: About Intel Management Engine firmware
Hi friends, I have recently upgraded an Acer Travelmate p253-E from his original pentium B960 up to an i5 2430m and I have experimented the 30 minutes countdown shutdown due to the fact that the motherboard (Q5WV1 LA-7912-P) has the HM70 chipset that "is not compatible" with I procesors. I would like to know if it would be possible to flash the firmware in order to freeze this countdown. I have tried all imaginable things and this is the last shot before give up.
Thanks for reading.
