  • bsod 101/freeze issue

Need help solving a x101 bsod error that i got this morning.

I'm recently installed a GA Z77X UP4TH MB that I just got back from being RMA'd

after checking around on the internet they said I should increase vcore but how much vcore do I need.

    Re: bsod 101/freeze issue

the only settings I have changed are:
    vcore coltage response - fast
pwm phase control - extreme performance
    set cpu/vtt to 1.08v
    turned off turbo boost
    set xmp profile 1
    CPU/PCIe Base Clock to 100.1
    CPU Enhanced Halt(C1E) disabled
    C3/C6 State Support disabled
    CPU Thermal Monitor disabled
    CPU EIST Function disabled

I only have a an oc guide,

random restarts are usually memory related or cpu v

how much dram voltage are you using? for stock clocks all id change are bclk to 100,vcore volt response to fast, pwm phase control to extreme perf and manually set dram voltage(anywhere from 1.5v to 1.65v)

                Re: bsod 101/freeze issue

My memory is 9/9/9/24 at 1.5v would putting it at 1.555 like you have in your guide be detrimental?

What I mean is setting it over the listed voltage hurt too much?

at stock cpu core voltage atm is 1.152v and blck is still 100.1 dram voltage is at 1.5v

                    Re: bsod 101/freeze issue

If needed, your memory should be fine up to 1.65 volts and no, it won't hurt the memory.
Sometimes slightly higher than standard voltage is needed for stability.

Memtest86+ is an excellent diagnostic tool that can help find out if memory is faulty or if some bios settings are too far off, but it doesn't stress test your system the way that Prime95 and some other programs do.

tbh im just really afraid to use prime 95 :( mainly because jamaica itself can be a bit warm
and i wouldnt want to damage the cpu when i have no backups to replace it

                        Re: bsod 101/freeze issue

Last night it gave me a wierd error
It froze and when i restarted it gave me the memory beep codes
I checked each slot with a single stick twice, once with each stick of g.skill, still got beeps
Then I tried with a 4mb 1333mhz stick still got beeps.
Then I tried back one of the g. skill and it booted up.

What could cause that and how can i fix it?

Seems the cpu was the cause of all the errors on the end of its cycle sigh atleast i can get a replacement out here

If the mods can close this that will be great
