  • Memory voltage

    Hey folks,
My motherboard supports DDR3 1600/1333/1066 RAM at 1.5v according to the manual
I'd like to upgrade my memory but it seems a lot of kits are rated 1.65v. Will this be safe for my motherboard?

    Thanks,
    -A

will there be an adverse effect on the motherboard or the RAM in the long run?

No, it's rated and designed to run at that voltage. Worth noting that some high speed RAM does run hot and could use some active cooling but tbh if you go with 1600mhz most will run (and are rated) at 1.5
