Thanks boondocks. Actually, the only thing I understood was that at stock uncore (i.e. 34 with my CPU) OC's automatically and that it has twice the bandwidth as CPU core, however GB TweakLauncher only reports uncore=40, so I'm not sure if this value matches best with my CPU core of 42. How do i determine what value matches CPU core?

Also, in a later post, @sin suggested to Alxx 'why not to set it to a fixed 38', which is why I am now confused. Just like to know how uncore would really function relative to CPU core and how to match it to my CPU core.

Update: Here are 2 outputs, the max Gflops I can get with my setup. First with uncore at stock 34 (OC'g to 40), and the second at fixed 37. I don't see much difference between both. The other uncore fixed values had bit lower gflops.
    At stock 34 uncore:

    At 37 uncore:

Anything I can still adjust that would perhaps bring better results w/o raising temps, or is this the best I can do? Thanks.

A few minutes with the newest P95 beta 2.
I can't believe how much hotter the one core is than the rest, but somehow I doubt replacing the TIM under the IHS will do any good......

Strange that your 4th core is almost 20C different then highest core (2nd) temp?

I know. Not sure if it's because of the delid, or what. I've never had one skew that far before on any kind of mount.
On my 3770K the second and third core were about the same after delidding.

I can't get that high gflops even @ 4.6. But I see you run more voltage than I do.
I'm at 1.26 vcore setpoint and 1.10 vring setpoint. Perhaps if I moved the uncore up and added some vring......but then the heat would go up so I think maybe I'll keep it close to where it is now.
Unless of course I can get that one core to cool down some more.... perhaps soon I'll pull the water block and maybe redo the CLP.

Sure....I run mine at 4.8 / 1.32-1.33vcore all the time.

For my 4770K here are "stable" voltages:

                        4.6 - 1.800 Vrin / 1.26 Vcore / 1.05 Vring
                        4.7 - 1.800 Vrin / 1.31 Vcore / 1.05 Vring
                        4.8 - 1.800 Vrin / 1.33 Vcore / 1.05 Vring
                        4.9 - 1.900 Vrin / 1.40 Vcore / 1.05 Vring
5.0 - not enough testing data yet

Uncore x35. I don't find raising uncore helps except a small bit when benching.

For testing I use a variety of programs including X264 looped; Prime 95 with 8K-12K, 1344K ffts; XTU.

Uncore in bios is 34X as far as i can tell, but let on auto mobo will up to 40X. I saw this is a common behaviour on all Gigabyte Z87 lineup - uncore in bios 34X/35X,when cpu core oc occure, mobos will auto overclock the uncore till 39X/40X. Do i really need to mess with uncore frequency?...

With the BIOS I'm using, the default for uncore is "Auto", which is x35. With this BIOS version it stays on x35 instead of increasing with clock.

If the version of BIOS you are using increases uncore with clock then set it manually to either -1 or +1 of the default.

BTW you should fill out your system specs, or make a signature, we don't know what your setup is.

The way you find out is to test, every cpu is different.
Plus if you increase uncore you will want to increase Vring.
Test, test, test. No one can tell you exactly what your cpu / mobo will do. There are a few good Haswell OC guides on OCN.
