  • GA-B75M-D3H boot loops and BIOS corrupt problem

    Hi!

Just built the PC last week, so far so good.
However until today, when I pressed the power button, the PC started boot loops.
After a couple of boot loops, a message popup on the screen, informing me that the main BIOS is corrupt, and needs to be recovered, so I pressed ENTER key and let it start the recover process.
When the recovery process has finished, the system restarted, and is working fine again.

But I would like to know what may be the cause of this problem?
What if I encounter the problem again in the future?

    The system specs are:
    CPU: Intel Core i5-3470
Mother Board: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H (Rev 1.1) with F12 BIOS
    RAM: Kingston DDR3 KHX1600C9D3K2 4G-1600 *2
    Graphics Card: EVGA GTX650 SC
    SSD: Intel X25-M 80G
    HDD1: WD 20EFRX 2TB

    HDD2: Toshiba 2TB
    Power Supply: Seasonic S12II-430W
    Chassis: Lian-Li PC-9F

    OS: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 SP1

Please provide some suggestions if you have encountered similar issues.
    Thank you!

      This is the first time.
The PC was built on last Thursday, and did not experience any problems prior to this one.
I have some old Gigabyte mother boards with dual BIOS chips, but did not experience this issue before.
So I am a little worried, since this is the first time I experience the problem on Gigabyte boards, and the board is just a week old.
Will report back if it happens again. (I hope not.)
      Thanks for your reply!

        Here's what I would do:

Make sure that the backup BIOS is updated to F12. Otherwise when the main BIOS gets corrupted (or something else happens), it will flash it to an earlier BIOS. You might want to give F13g a try too.

Both the main BIOS and backup BIOS are already version F12.
Will try F13g beta if the problem persists.
          Thanks for your suggestion.

            OK...
Today my PC did not response at all when I pressed the power button, so I pressed the power button for the second time, still no response at all.
After that I unplugged the power cord for a while, and plug back to the A/C outlet.
I turned on the PC, the BIOS corrupt message appears again, but this time without boot loops.
After recovering the BIOS, it works again just like last time.
But I presume this may happen again.
The PC is just three weeks old, and I have already encountered the problem twice.
What could be the problem and how should I fix it?
Please give me some suggestions, thanks!
