Which bios version are you currently running? Give the full bios version number.

Did you see the following information for the U1C bios download on the Gigabyte download web page for your motherboard?

0.UEFI BIOS

I am already running that Z68UD4.U1C bios.

I want to test Z68XUD4.U1D here it is: Z68XUD4.U1D

Here is the .bat file that needs to be modded to load this U1D bios rather than the U1C. autoexec.bat

I don't understand why I couldnt just edit it in notepad.

Tell me the exact procedure you used when you changed the Autoexec.bat file from
FLASHEFI Z68XUD4.U1C
to
FLASHEFI Z68XUD4.U1D

Did you put all three files on a bootable drive? What type of drive? Was the drive formatted to FAT32?

1. Autoexec.bat (modified version)
2. FlashEFI.??? where ??? = com? exe? bin?
3. Z68XUD4.U1D <--- actial bios file

To change the .bat file I open notepad and load the .bat file. On the one line of txt I change the C to a D and save.

FlashEFI.??? where ??? = com? exe? bin?------ its FLASHEFI.EXE

Yes I have all 3 of those files on a fat 32 usb stick. the same usb stick that got me to U1C from F10.

The error I get when tring to flash the U1D is something like "Flash is not supported"

I just downloaded the U1C bios file from Gigabyte.us and the autoexec.bat file says:
FLASHEFI Z68XUD3H.U1H

and the bios file name is Z68XUD3H.U1H

The unzipped file dates for all 3 files is June xx, 2012

You must have got a different U1C for another motherboard. Not this one...

I think that because you are already on the U1C bios, that you might be able to use QFlash to update from U1C to U1D.

The safest thing to do is post in Stasio's Latest Beta Bios thread and ask him if it is OK for you to use QFlash to flash from U1C to U1D.

I think that the requirement to use FLAHSEFI.exe is only when you are flashing from a legacy (i.e. non-UEFI) to a UEFI bios.

If Stasio has any questions, ask him to post his question here.

Be patient, wait for Stasio to reply. I trust what he says. I don't have the same faith if an unknown member posts his results.

It's not worth possibly bricking your motherboard!!!

yea, that was my thoughts. I already tried q-flash just before but it cant find my other windows 98 boot usb. might be a bug with this U1C bios.
What a stuff around, even if I get U1D on there is no confirmation that there will be vcore control.

Did you try booting directly to your bootable usb with the "D" bios files?
You might need to try several different USB boot device options or a different brand/model/size flash drives to actually point to your usb flash drive.

I have tried a few options. Q-Flash isnt dectecting the any of them. Do I have to select the usb stick as boot priority #1 for q-flash to see it?

You might be able to select the device by pressing F12 (check your manual) and then selecting the correct usb-xxxx device or by making your usb flash drive the first boot device in the boot priority screen.

I just finished downloading U1C, this time from China and I'm going to check the extracted file names, dates and contents of the autoexec.bat file.
