  • Enable AHCI on all SATA controllers - Possible? on GA-X58A-UD5 Rev 2

This is on a GA-X58A-UD5Rev 2 board with X58A-UD5 FE Bios with AHCI enabled.

The drive has room for 10 SATA drives, as seen in the motherboard layout (From the manual pg 7).
SATA2_0 .. SATA2_5 are on Intel Southbridge, GSATA3_6, GSATA3_7 are on Marvell 9128, and GSATA2_8, GSATA2_9 are on Gigabyte SATA controllers.

The BIOS has a place to enable AHCI for the ICH SATA controller (see attached screenshot). Does that enable AHCI only on the Southbridge?

How do I enable AHCI on the other SATA controllers (Marvell and Gigabyte)?

    Thanks.

You need to go to the bottom of the page. You are only looking at page one of that BIOS screen. The Marvell (6Gb/s) and Gigabyte (3Gb/s) controllers are on the second page. See scroll bar on the right side of the page. And yes you can set each controllers mode separately. Good Luck!

PS: FWIW, Acronis True Image 2013 boot disk is having problems detecting drives connected to Marvell or Gigabyte controllers. I am using all my drives to the Intel Southbridge ports.
