GA-Z77X-Ud5H bug of ALC898 under Ubuntu and Mountain Lion

We are facing a bug specific to this mobo and the Wifi version ( not present on Asus and Asrock with same alc898). Sound in not ouputing on the correct jacks and no sound on the front( hare phone). Seems to be a Bios problem. New UP5 TH which is very close with same ALC898 is not affected.
is it possible to get a bios correction based on the correction done for this new board?

Strange though is that AIDA64 (v.2.500.2000) Reports the Sound as 899 .
@ MarcelBidon, i already sent a VerbDump to Tole at TonyM to see what else he can find.........

You may try Realtek latest version driver for Linux from realtek website: Realtek

In fact, I am running Mountain Lion and Windows7. With seven no problem, as it is possible to redefine dynamically the jacks. With osx and linux not such possibility. I will check, if the people using Unbuntu are reporting that problem is solved. Thanks for the info.
Most probable is that there is a bios problem, bug is present with standard and Wifi versions but not the thunderbolt version more recent.

Thanks. I think that understand the difference between UP5 TH (ok), UD5H and UD5H Wifi (Nok) would be key. Unfortunately, I am not able to do that. Bios internals are a mystery for me.

Does anyone have copy of the repair instructions that gigabyte posted for fixing the GA-Z77X-UD5H v 1.0 sound card ?
Or any info (NEW/S) of the current state of the PROBLEM ? rev 1.1 is supposed to be fixed and outputs sound fine.
Is this only board with this problem?

have you diabled front panel jack detection to get sound out the front headphone ports? you can also re tast the rear sound jacks to what you want

Yes it works properly in windows get sound out from lineout and it switches to headphones when plugged in, in ubuntu headphones works when plugged but the lineout isn't outputting in rev1.0 board. Mixer shows it's getting signal (vol meter fluctuates) tho.

is there a reg tweak to open the sound ports? i did that for my board on windows but have no idea about ubuntu
